• State police arrest 2, seize $126,000 worth of heroin

    BURLINGTON — Vermont State Police have arrested two New York men on drug charges and seized over 9,000 bags of heroin with a street value of $126,000, one of the state’s largest heroin seizures.

    Police arrested 34-year-old Marcus Davis of Brooklyn and 25-year-old Eddie Eason Jr. of Medford early Friday on charges of conspiracy to distribute heroin as part of a larger drug trafficking ring. Both were being arraigned Friday.

    The Vermont Drug Task Force, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and Burlington police executed a search warrant at a residence in Burlington, where the drugs and $5,000 in cash were found.

    Authorities say the investigation is continuing and there may be more arrests.
