MONTPELIER — The Community College of Vermont is launching its own take on the trend of massive open online courses.

The college has opened registration for its first LOOC, or “little open online course.” Titled “On the Hunt for the Perfect Job,” the course is aimed at students seeking help looking and applying for jobs.

The class is modeled after large online courses in which materials and instruction are delivered to students free via the Internet. The five-week class starts Monday and will include video lectures, reading material and online discussion forums.
