Lillian J. Aldrighetti Rites
BARRE — A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre for Lillian J. Aldrighetti, 81, of Tremont Street, who passed away Sept. 27, 2013, at her vacation residence in Las Vegas.
The Rev. Leopold J. Bilodeau, pastor of the church, was the celebrant.
Crucifer Fred Letourneau was the altar server and led the Prayer of the Faithful.
Words of remembrance, written by her daughter, Deb Laferriere, were read by Margaret Fitts, a family friend; also, a letter written by Paul and Cecile Carbonneau, close family friends, was shared by Margaret Fitts.
Organist and vocalist Rosemary Badeau accompanied singers Ronald Routhier and Richard Shadroui in the hymns, “On Eagles Wings,” “My Soul Rejoices,” “Your Words, Lord, Are Spirit and Life,” “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman,” “Song of Farewell” and “Let There Be Peace On Earth.”
Scripture readings from the Old Testament were read by Jane Geider, a close family friend, and Christopher Aldrighetti, grandson, read Scriptures from the New Testament.
Offertory gifts were presented at the altar by her grandsons, Ryan, Cory and Kyle Laferriere and Christopher Aldrighetti. Flowers were presented by her two special great-granddaughters, Madeline and Piper Laferriere.
Assisting as Eucharistic minister was Cecile Carbonneau, a longtime family friend.
Father Leo delivered the homily and read a poem, “If Tears Could Build a Stairway.”
A prayer service was held with the family at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre on Thursday evening and Friday morning.
Pallbearers were Michael Aldrighetti, son; Ryan, Cory and Kyle Laferriere and Christopher Aldrighetti, all grandsons; and William Laferriere, son-in-law.
In attendance were former employees of the First Vermont Bank, Lake Elmore Association, Willey Hill Lodge and Spaulding High School classmates of 1950.
Burial followed the Mass at Hope Cemetery in Barre, where Father Leo offered committal prayers. Roses were placed on her casket by family members and friends.
Following the burial, family and friends gathered at the Mutuo, on Beckley Street in Barre, for a time of fellowship and dinner.
