• Hanging at trestle is called suicide

    DUXBURY — A 35-year-old man hung himself Tuesday on the train trestle on River Road in Duxbury, according to Vermont State Police.

    State police say the report of the hanging came in around 11:30 a.m. and that authorities responded immediately. After significant effort, state police say, the Waterbury Fire Department, Stowe Rescue and state police were able to recover the body, which was transported to the state’s chief medical examiner for autopsy.

    State police say there were no signs of foul play. The man’s name has not been released, pending notification of his family members.
