BARRE — Lillian J. Aldrighetti, age 81, of Tremont Street, Barre, died unexpectedly Sept. 27, 2013, at her vacation residence in Las Vegas.
Born Aug. 3, 1932, in Barre, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Jules and Bertha (Veillet) Chateauvert. She attended South Barre Graded School and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1950.
On June 7, 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, the love of her life, Louis J. Aldrighetti Jr., in St. Monica Church in Barre, Vt.
In earlier years, she worked at the former J.J. Newberry’s and the Rock of Ages Capacitor Plant. She retired from the former First Vermont Bank in 1993, having worked at the bank for nearly 26 years.
She enjoyed dividing her time between their home in Barre, their camp, Lakeview Cottage, at Lake Elmore, Vt., and their vacation residence in Las Vegas.
She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family and friends were Lillian’s passion and delight. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and traveling. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Lillian is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, “Junior,” of Barre; her daughter, Deb Laferriere, and her husband, Bill, also of Barre; and her son, Michael, and his wife, Jane, of Berlin. She leaves behind her four grandsons, Ryan Laferriere and his wife, Lauren, of Garner, N.C., Cory Laferriere and his wife, Alicia, of Barre Town, Kyle Laferriere and his fiancée, Noelle Conomacos, of San Diego, Calif., and Christopher Aldrighetti, of Berlin, Vt. She also leaves behind her two great-granddaughters, Madeline and Piper Laferriere, of Garner, N.C. Also surviving are her sister, Theresa Peake, of Berlin, and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Conrad and Judy Aldrighetti, of Berlin, Vt., as well as nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. Family and friends may call at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre Thursday, Oct. 3, from 7 to 9 p.m. Extra parking is available in St. Monica’s parking lot.
Burial will follow the Mass at Hope Cemetery in Barre.
Contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements are in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre.
