Woman admits growing pot in bathroom
WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A Windsor woman described by police as having an “extensive history” of drug involvement has pleaded guilty to growing marijuana in her bathroom.
Susan Clark, 50, made a plea agreement this week in White River Junction criminal court. The deal on charges of marijuana cultivation and violating her probation calls for a jail term of up to two years, which she will start serving next month.
She was arrested in May when probation officers, backed up by Windsor Police, found that she had a dozen marijuana plants growing in her bathroom at her home on Route 5 in Windsor.
Clark and her boyfriend, Richard Barbour, were both on probation at the time. Officials said they conducted the search after receiving tips that probation violations might be occurring at the couple’s residence.
Windsor Police Officer Jonathan Adams wrote in court records that when he arrived with his police dog Toby and the other officers, Clark immediately told them they would find a pot pipe on her living room table and plants growing in her bathroom.
Clark told police she used marijuana to help her sleep.
She was placed on probation two years ago after being convicted of selling heroin.MORE IN This Just InWeston Playhouse Theatre Company opened its 79th season with a slice of Vermont hick.
