GRANITEVILLE — The Memorial Service for Cassie Tucker MacLeod, 86, of Toccoa, Ga., and for Cassie’s son, Roy Rodrick MacLeod, 59, of Newnan, Ga., both former residents of Graniteville, was held Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Graniteville. She died Jan. 22, 2013, at her home. He died Dec. 22, 2012, at the home of his mother.
Pastor Tommy Childress, chaplain of the Amedisys Hospice in Toccoa, Ga., officiated and offered Reflections of the Life of Cassie. Stepdaughter and guitarist, Nicole March offered Reflections of the Life of Roy (Rod) and sang a solo.
Organist, Loren “Lonnie” Sweet accompanied the congregation in the hymns, “In The Garden,” “His Eye Is On The Sparrow,” and “Do Lord,” and accompanied soloist, Paula Chiuchiolo in the song, “Face To Face.”
Following the church service, family and friends gathered downstairs for a time of sharing memories and refreshments.
Interment took place in the Wilson Cemetery in Websterville, with Pastor Childress offering committal prayers for Cassie. Bagpiper, Donald Murray played the hymn, “Amazing Grace.”
The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, was in charge of the arrangements.
