Mini Maker Faire
set for Shelburne
SHELBURNE — Engineers, craft makers, teachers and science clubs will gather next weekend at Shelburne Farms to show off what they’ve made.
The two-day Champlain Mini Maker Faire is part science fair, part country fair that gives the public a chance to interact with local makers while celebrating arts, engineering, science and technology.
This second annual event will include Bina48, a robot that uses artificial intelligence to mimic human personality and carry on a conversation.
There will also be robot making, rocket launching, junk music, smokeless s’mores and an 8-foot-tall dragon.
Executive Event Producer Doug Webster said the goal is to help renew a culture of innovation within the community, to foster innovation and creativity, and to engage youth in science, engineering and technology.MORE IN Vermont NewsAs Rutland prepares to welcome Syrian refugees to its community, some are continuing to voice...
