    Peace prize for Putin

It’s time my friend John Snell, Elizabeth Hebert and the rest of you peaceniks gave President Obama a break. After all, the president didn’t seek out the Nobel Peace Prize. And, in his acceptance speech, he did say there were times when war was necessary.

Besides, if you’ll recall, the Nobel committee has a history of awarding warmongers the prize. Henry Kissinger, the architect of the “Cambodian incursion,” got the prize back in the 1970s, when we were fighting in Vietnam.

Personally, my current favorite candidate for the prize is Vladimir Putin, who promoted the plan to nullify Syria’s chemical weapon capability and thus avoid an act of war on America’s part.

If you’ll take the time to read his op-ed piece in the New York Times, you’ll see that Vladimir Putin is a man with a strong vision for world peace and the observance of international law.
