• St. Johnsbury dealing with bedbugs in several buildings
     | September 17,2013

ST. JOHNSBURY — The community of St. Johnsbury is dealing with a growing bedbug problem.

The bugs were found in three apartment houses in town recently.

Town Health Officer Troy Ruggles pointed out there’s been a growing bedbug program in other parts of the state, too.

A pest control crew used blower fans to pipe 150-degree heated air into the affected apartments to kill off the bedbugs.

Officials also said the presence of bedbugs isn’t a result of poor housekeeping. Bedbugs are imported insects that are introduced by a person entering the building while a bedbug is on them.
