Come see the Hall of Fame

Thank you for the article about Bob Davis and the Vermont Agricultural Hall of Fame.

This year, the hall is celebrating 11 years of highlighting wonderful Vermonters who have made such a difference in our state. Almost 60 individuals, representing all aspects of our industry, have been honored with induction, and their images are visible on the wall at the Champlain Valley Exposition year-round. CVE has hosted the luncheon for the inductees, their families or representatives, sponsors and friends during the fair for the past nine years.

We encourage anyone in the state to nominate a deserving Vermonter by going to www.cvexpo.org and following the links to the application. It is actually pretty easy and doesn’t require the 150 signatures or any petition as presented by Mr. Paige in the article. The form asks for highlights of the person’s life and a 250-word narrative with more information. Nominations are never discarded, and the committee reviews all previous and current submissions every year when making its decisions.

The Hall of Fame luncheon has become an important celebration of agriculture for Vermont, and I invite all those attending any events at the Champlain Valley Exposition to visit the entryway to Miller Building North and view the black-and-white photographs. They serve as a testament to the hard work and generous hearts of those who have spent their lives making our state a leader in agriculture.
