• Vt man killed in US Route 5 crash in Coventry

    COVENTRY ó Vermont State Police say a 57-year-old Albany man is dead after the car he was driving crossed the center line on U.S. Route 5 in Coventry and collided with a tractor-trailer truck headed in the opposite direction.

    Police say Timothy J. Harrington was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred just after 10 a.m. Monday.

    The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.

    Route 5 was closed for several hours after the crash.

    The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
