• Guilty plea is made in Montpelier DUI

    BARRE — A Harwood Union High School history teacher has admitted driving under the influence last month in Montpelier.

    Ryan McCormick, 28, pleaded guilty to the charge Thursday in Washington County criminal court in Barre and was fined $500.

    According to the police affidavit, McCormick was traveling on Barre Street in Montpelier on July 27 when he was seen driving in the center of the street. He was pulled over and police say an initial breath test revealed he had a blood alcohol content of 0.203 percent.
