The Arts Bus receives grant
RANDOLPH — The Arts Bus Project picked up some help from Green Mountain United Way recently in the form of a grant to support the publication and distribution of its new book, “Children, Trauma and the Arts.”
The Arts Bus regularly drives to more than 10 villages in Orange, Windsor and Washington counties to give children an opportunity to discover their innate creativity, guided by inspiring artist-mentors. A mobile art studio, library, music space and theater, the project is able to bring the visual, performing and literary arts to kids in rural areas.
Grants are based on targeted areas of income, education and health. To be considered for a grant, local nonprofit organizations must exhibit how they will positively affect the eventual financial stability, improved early education of local children, or healthy food and physical activity choices made by those participating in these programs.
