• East Calais driver is cited on charges of DUI, DLS

    MONTPELIER — An East Calais man has been cited on charges of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.

    David W. Machon, 58, was pulled over on Main Street in Montpelier for running a red light, the sheriff’s department said. The sheriff’s department found Machon had a criminally suspended license due to two convictions for driving under the influence.

    He was cited into Washington County criminal court to answer the charges. The date was not specified.
