Sean K. Walsh Rites
BARRE — A Mass of Christian burial for Sean Kenneth Walsh, of Maple Avenue, was celebrated Friday, July 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. in St. Augustine Catholic Church in Montpelier. He died July 14, 2013, at his home as a result of colon cancer.
The Rev. Michael Augustinowicz, pastor of the church, was the celebrant and was assisted by deacons the Rev. Mr. Regis Cummings and the Rev. Mr. Gesualdo Schneider.
Pianist-singer Richard Shadroui and singer Mary Fran Stafford led the congregation in the hymns, “Amazing Grace,” “In the Garden,” “Prayer of St. Francis” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Words of remembrance and thanks were offered by his sister Tara Walsh and nephew Connor Polow. They were supported by his sister Bridget Polow and brother William Walsh. Brother-in-law James Mahoney gave the Old Testament reading, and family friend David Lovald proclaimed from the New Testament.
The bearers were his nephew Jeremy Walsh, brother-in-law David Polow, his best friend and fishing buddy, Lauren Kling, friend and longtime employer Steve Ribolini, and longtime friends Fred Bushway and Elliot Curtin.
The funeral procession paused at his late residence on Maple Avenue on the way to his final resting place in the Hope Cemetery, where Father Augustinowicz read the committal prayers.
Delegations were in attendance from SR Services of Montpelier and the Montpelier Kiwanis Club.
Fellowship and luncheon followed the ceremony at the Steakhouse Restaurant in Berlin.
