• Florida district attorney blew it

    DA blew it in Florida

    The district attorney in Florida filed the wrong charges against George Zimmerman and waited too long. Zimmerman was much more likely guilty of manslaughter than second-degree murder. U.S. Penal Code Title 5 defines manslaughter as “recklessly causing the death of an individual.” As a vigilante Zimmerman fits this charge. But instead the district attorney went for the more serious charge after waiting several days. Zimmerman caused the death of the young man by pursuing him after contacting the police. He was to blame and should be guilty and in jail. Meanwhile, the district attorney in Florida should be out of a job. We need law enforcement in America that fits the actual crime committed, not someone’s ego trip.
