    Policy is a disgrace

    Attention, Patrick Berry, commissioner:

What kind of people are the taxpayers of Vermont paying that shoot fawns for no reason other than their being alive? Tell me how any decent human being can look into the face of an innocent fawn and shoot it? And don’t give me the scientific B.S. because your department is authorized by law to do otherwise, but it is so much easier to just kill the baby deer. So much for your department looking out for Vermont’s wildlife. Your policy is a disgrace to this state.

The person who picked up and shot the fawn as reported in Wednesday’s paper is a subhuman low-life with no shred of humanity and will someday have to answer for such cold-blooded killing of one of God’s creatures. I wish I knew who it was so I could actually see with my own eyes what a monster really looks like.

Anyone who could do this deserves the loathing and contempt of those of us in Vermont who treasure and respect our wild animals.
