Man sentenced in four vehicle deaths returns to Vt court
NEWPORT — A driver convicted of being responsible for the 1998 deaths of four teenagers is asking a judge to reconsider the sentence imposed for his third probation violation.
Gregory Twofoot, 34, was sentenced to five to 15 years in prison on four counts of gross negligent operation of a motor vehicle, fatality resulting.
The Caledonian Record reported a judge ordered him to serve the remainder of his minimum sentence, estimated at 18 months. Now the judge has to decide whether the time frame for a sentence reconsideration has long passed.
Twofoot was driving a vehicle that overturned on Interstate 91 and landed in Cobb Brook, near Newport. Four people died; one passenger survived.
