    Follow the job

Many state employees have been relocated because of the Waterbury complex closing. I’m a state employee. I worked at the Waterbury complex, and I was relocated to Essex. Thankfully, I commute to Essex in a vanpool. Do I like traveling farther to work? No. Do I enjoy trying to find the easiest way to get to Essex because of construction? No.

Some state employees are upset because they don’t want to work in Barre. I live in Barre, and I would love to work in Barre, enjoy everything the city has to offer — two museums, a library, a bookstore and many nice stores to shop. Also, we have great restaurants.

I understand that working in cubicles won’t be easy, but when state employees move back to Waterbury, we will be in cubicles. But, we will also be in Waterbury, and we can appreciate all that Waterbury has to offer — a library, a bookstore and many other stores to shop.

We are state employees working to serve Vermonters. Let’s do our jobs and appreciate that we have a job.
