Waste district awarded $5,000 grant
MONTPELIER — The Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District received a recycling education grant of $5,000 to help implement an educational advertising campaign dedicated to recycling information.
The grant, from the Curbside Value Partnership, is part of a new program that provides resources to users of CVP Connect, a free online education training tool for recycling coordinators launched last year to help communities be more strategic and effective in the promotion of their residential recycling programs.
“Recycling is mandatory in the Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District and will be mandatory in all of Vermont by 2015,” said district General Manager Leesa Stewart in a news release. “The educational programming this grant will allow us to provide will enable the CVSWMD to increase valuable educational services and enable us to provide information to residents of the region around the importance of recycling and the new state requirement to recycle.”
The district is one of 15 communities selected by the Curbside Value Partnership to receive assistance to execute upcoming recycling education plans.MORE IN This Just InBen & Jerry’s
