HARDWICK — Vermont State Police say a fatal residential fire Monday in Hardwick was not suspicious in nature.

State police say the mobile home most likely caught fire because of faulty electrical work.

The identity of the person who died in the fire is still unknown, but state police say they believe it is the owner of the home, whose name has not been released. Authorities said there were no signs of trauma after an autopsy was performed. State police say further forensic work is needed to identify the victim.
