• Chelsea joins lunch program

    CHELSEA — The United Church of Chelsea announced this week it is participating in the Summer Food Service Program for Children.

    Lunch will be provided on Monday and Friday from noon to 12:30 p.m., along with the senior center meals at the church, starting July 8.

    The program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will end Aug. 16.

    It is designed to ensure that children who rely on free or reduced-price meals during the school year continue to have adequate nutrition through the summer.

    Meals are available to all children 18 years old or younger.
