Gertrude R. Neill
HARDWICK ó Gertrude Rose Bellavance Neill, of Hardwick, went to our dear Lord on June 30, 2013, at the age of 73.
She was born Aug. 26, 1939, in Walden, Vt., the daughter of Aime and Beatrice (Godbout) Bellavance, both deceased.
She attended Star School in Walden.
She married Cecil J. Neill on July 28, 1962, at St. Norbertís Church.
She delivered bottled milk for A. Bellavance & Sons door to door in the local area. She also picked up granite locally for A. Bellavance & Sons and was the first woman to do this in the Barre area. She worked for Hardwick Wear Knitters, Cabot Cheese Plant and Wildcat Busing. Once her children were born, she became a full-time housewife.
She was a member of the Auxiliary for the American Legion Post 007 and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Veronica.
Gertrude is survived by her daughters, Patricia Lemay, her husband, Michael, and sons, Troy and Zachary, of Hardwick, and Carolyn Greaves, her husband, Perley, and sons, Philip, Bradley, his wife, Jackie, and Daniel, of Walden; son, James, his son, Joshua, and daughter, Jennifer, of Anchorage, Alaska; and stepson, Bruce Mehuron, his wife, Peggy, and sons, Gregory and Christopher, of Waitsfield. She is also survived by her brothers Frank, of Elizabeth, Pa., Albert and Laurent, of Hardwick; sisters Alice Wheeler, of Gloucester, Mass., Beatrice Lussier, of Berkshire, Vt., and Doris Dufresne, of Marshfield, Vt.; brother-in-law Rodney Allen, of Berlin, Vt., and sister-in-law Barbara Allen, of Derry, N.H.; along with many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She was predeceased by Cecil on April 2, 2006; her parents; sisters Therese Dufresne and Jeanne DíArc Dufresne; along with her brothers Alphonse, Arthur, Joseph, Paul and Leon.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of des Groseilliers Funeral Home on Church Street in Hardwick, Vt.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Norbertís Church in Hardwick. Burial will immediately follow at Fairview Cemetery in Hardwick.
