BARRE — A Granite City woman has pleaded not guilty to breaking into a Cabot residence and stealing a Nintendo Wii in May.

Kara M. Arnaiz, 25, pleaded not guilty to felony burglary in Washington County criminal court Thursday. If convicted, she faces a maximum of 15 years in prison and a $1,000 fine.

According to the Vermont State Police affidavit, a woman called state police saying someone had broken into a Ducharme Road residence and taken the video game system. She told state police someone had smashed a glass pane on the front door to gain entrance to the home.

When questioned by state police, Arnaiz admitted to using a rock to smash out the glass and entered the residence. Arnaiz admitted to taking the Wii, as well as other items including a guitar, and sold the other items for $100.
