BURLINGTON — A woman accused of giving drugs to a woman who overdosed and died and a man who overdosed and survived has been sentenced to 60 days on a work crew.

Anna Clark, 26, of Burlington, was given credit for time served Wednesday. She’ll spend about a month on the work crew, said Judge Linda Levitt.

“If you hadn’t been doing so well in your treatment and counseling, I think it would be a sentence to serve (in prison), because of the horrible, horrible outcomes,” Levitt said.

Clark admitted to contributing to two overdoses in a deal with prosecutors in March.

She gave cocaine to Cindy Goulet, 54, of Burlington, who died of the combination of cocaine and Dilaudid in June 2012. Four months later, while she was on court-ordered conditions of release, she gave heroin to Andrew Snow, 44, who overdosed and was revived at the hospital. Two other people were also charged in each overdose.

“Now that I’m sober and have a clear head, I know what I did was wrong,” she said Wednesday in court. “I cannot take it back.”

Clark pleaded guilty in March to delivery of heroin, dispensing a regulated drug and identity theft in a plea deal in which prosecutors dropped 11 other charges, according to The Burlington Free Press.

Prosecutors had sought a prison sentence of two to five years. The defense asked for home confinement.

Defense attorney Luke Collins told the court Clark became addicted after she was prescribed medication for breast cancer.
