    State union losing credibility

The Vermont State Employees Association has fired its executive director and then reinstated him, but then placed him on paid administrative leave for as long as a month, while they conduct an “investigation”? This rather erratic and somewhat bizarre behavior can only be explained as confusing at best. Why fire your executive director one day and then reinstate him the next, only to place him on paid leave? The VSEA represents all the Vermont state employees. The VSEA negotiates contracts on behalf of the state employees with the administration. If the state government administration officials are paying attention to this fiasco, and I guarantee they are, heaven knows what they must think. Can they take this organization seriously in the future? I wonder.

I don’t know what Mr. Mitchell did to deserve this awful treatment, and neither does he as apparently they never told him, but I imagine he’ll eventually find out. This situation has the appearance of being somewhat covert, unprofessional and disrespectful in nature. The details are all being kept a big secret. That can only make matters worse for the VSEA.
