    Georgette D. Thompson Rites

    BARRE CITY — A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday, June 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre for Georgette D. Thompson, 78, of North Barre Manor, who passed away on June 10, 2013, at the Berlin Health & Rehabilitation Center in Berlin.

    The Rev. Leopold J. Bilodeau, pastor of the church, was the celebrant.

    Crucifer, Lawrence Reilly, was altar server and led the Prayer of the Faithful.

    Organist, Rosemary Badeau, accompanied vocalists, Romeo Bilodeau and Ronald Routhier, in the hymns, “Be Not Afraid,” “The Lord Is My Shepherd,” “Your Words, Lord, Are Spirit and Life,” “Gentle Woman,” “Song of Farewell” and “Let There Be Peace On Earth.” Soloist, Rosemary Badeau, sang, “Ave Maria.”

    Words of remembrance were offered by niece, Donna LaPerle.

    Scripture readings from the Old Testament were read by Claire LaPerle and Melissa Lawson read scriptures from the New Testament, both sisters-in-law.

    Offertory gifts were presented at the altar by Denise Begin, Diane Clark and Donna LaPerle, all nieces.

    Assisting as Eucharistic minister was Cecile Carbonneau.

    Pallbearers were Marcel LaPerle, brother, Stuart Lawson, James Lawson and Thomas Lawson, nephews, and Kyle Lawson and Cody Lawson, both great-nephews.

    Burial followed the Mass in the Plain-Mont Cemetery in East Montpelier where Father Bilodeau offered committal prayers.

    Father Bilodeau led a prayer service with the family Friday morning at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre.

    Following the burial, family and friends gathered the Canadian Club in Barre Town for a time of fellowship and dinner.

    Arrangements were in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre.
