    Why I read

The Times Argus has been a newspaper that on a daily basis reports the Vermont news in an intelligent and common-sense manner. I remember the feature story in the paper on the Island Pond Raid of 1984. I didn’t expect it to be big news, but it was. I was working at Vermont Social Services as a social worker at the time and was drafted to be at work that day and be a part of the infamous raid. The Times Argus had pictures of the raid and a great story about it. It was June 22, 1984, that the state of Vermont conducted the raid on the Northeast Kingdom Community Church in Island Pond.

Since then, The Times Argus has been a newspaper I read each day.

They’re not afraid to report the news as it happens. That’s the way it should be.
