Teen accused of sex assault on relative
BARRE — A Waterbury teen has been accused of forcing a female relative to give and receive oral sex late last year.
Austin Hoyt, 16, pleaded not guilty to felony sexual assault without consent Thursday in Washington County criminal court in Barre. If convicted, Hoyt faces a maximum of life in prison and a $25,000 fine.
According to the Vermont State Police affidavit, Hoyt’s mother, Amy Currier, told the Vermont Department for Children and Families that Hoyt had been sexually assaulting the relative, whose age was not given.
State police said the female relative told them Hoyt would come into her bedroom and tell her to take off her clothes, then would strip and lie on top of her naked.
She told state police she would comply with Hoyt’s commands because she was “afraid he would hurt me” and later said he told her, “Don’t tell or I’ll hurt you,” according to the affidavit.
The relative told state police Hoyt would touch her genitals and perform oral sex on her, police said. She also said Hoyt would instruct her to perform oral sex on him, which she did. She told state police the incidents happened four or five times.
When state police questioned Hoyt about the accusation, they said, he admitted lying naked on top of her, touching her breasts and genitals and putting his mouth on her genitals. He said she performed oral sex on him but denied asking her to do so, according to the affidavit.MORE IN This Just InThe state's decommissioning advisory panel should take stands on key issues.
