Madelyn B. Morgan
WATERBURY — Madelyn Brenda (Stewart) Morgan, 86, of Kneeland Flats, Waterbury, Vt., passed away May 22, 2013, peacefully at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness.
She was born in Berlin, Vt., on June 4, 1926, to the late Leon and Maude (Thurber) Stewart.
A 1945 graduate of Montpelier High School, she married Maurice N. Morgan (deceased) on Dec. 23, 1945, in Montpelier, Vt. They had nine children. She was predeceased by one sister, Brenda, in 1923.
She previously worked as a waitress for several well-known Barre, Vt., restaurants, for the food service at National Life Insurance Co., and as a custodial supervisor for the Joyal Vocational School at the Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury.
Madelyn was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Survivors include her nine children and their spouses: Thelma Carrino and her husband, Michael, of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; Norman Morgan, of Waterbury, Vt.; Larry and Caroline Morgan, of Waterbury, Vt.; Brian and Sally Morgan, of Nerang, Australia; Paul and Deborah Morgan, of Williston, Vt.; Keith and Carmen Morgan, of Waterbury, Vt.; Marc and Tina Morgan, of Waterbury, Vt.; David and Sheila Morgan, of Northfield, Vt.; and Randall Morgan, of Waterbury, Vt. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as one niece, three nephews and several great-nieces and -nephews.
At the request of the deceased and her family, there will be no calling hours. A private memorial will take place at the convenience of the family.
