    Police: Man burned belongings

    Staff Report

BETHEL — A Bethel man is accused of burning his ex-girlfriend’s personal belongings in the front yard of their home Wednesday.

Rudi Mattson, 42, was cited on charges of third-degree arson and unlawful mischief after Vermont State Police responded to a call from Kelly Wroblewski, 37, saying Mattson had threatened to burn her things. Upon arrival, state police say, Mattson fled into the woods.

He was located by state police the next day without incident.

Mattson pleaded not guilty in Windsor County criminal court Friday.
