• Elmore fish access to be renamed

    ELMORE — The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife held a ceremony to rename the fishing access on Lake Elmore.

    On Friday, the Lake Elmore Access was renamed The Lake Elmore Vaughn M. Douglass Access Area.

    Vermont Fish & Wildlife Commissioner Patrick Berry and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Regional Director Wendi Weber formally recognized Douglass’ contribution.

    Douglass retired last July from the position of lands and development program chief. He died in September.
