Michael B. Brooks
MONTPELIER — Michael Bernard Brooks, 67, formerly of Montpelier and most recently of Conroe, Texas, died May 2, 2013, in Lonoke, Ark.
He was born Jan. 14, 1946, in Newport, the son of Bernard and Antoinette (Beauchesne) Brooks.
He attended school in Newport and later Montpelier. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1964. He then attended the Franklin Institute of Boston.
He was a member of the Vermont National Guard from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1971.
He worked as a computer consultant, installing computer systems for auto body shops. His work required him to travel extensively around the country.
While living in Montpelier, he was a member of the local Corvette owners club.
Survivors include his adopted children, Brittney Brooks, of Arkansas, and Mitchell Brooks, of Conroe, Texas. He is also survived by his mother, of Montpelier; a sister, Diana Hovey, of Defiance, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Arkansas. Committal prayers will be offered at St. Edward’s Cemetery in Derby Line at a later date.
