• Barre police log: Grilling, tenting and other concerns

    The following is a sampling of reports to Barre police in recent days.



    May 1

    A debit card was stolen from a Summer Street apartment.

    Someone crawled into a window in an apartment building on Shurtleff Place.

    A man was staggering around a store on South Main Street, fell into a case and was lying on the floor.

    On North Main Street, a group of kids threw a bag of movies into the bushes.

    A man without a shirt on was checking cars on Currier Street.



    May 2

    A rooster was constantly crowing on Orange Street.

    There was a large bang and then a large amount of water pouring out of a 3-foot hole in a shed wall on Lewis Street.

    A landlord had a camera set up to record a tenantís door on Granite Street.

    On North Main Street, a neighbor was smoking marijuana.



    May 3

    A man was cutting up a pole for scrap metal on North Main Street.

    Parts were stolen from a manís truck on South Main Street.

    Someone was dumping trash on a womanís property on Allen Street.

    A naked man was walking down the bike path near Fairview Street.

    Someone left a bucket of feces on Keith Avenue.

    Juveniles were jumping into traffic on Warren Street.



    May 4

    Needles were found at a tent site on the bike path near Rotary Park.

    Kids were shooting a pellet gun toward a womanís house on Branch Street.

    People were setting up tents behind the Jiffy Mart on North Main Street.

    On Prospect Street, people were shooting paintball guns in a field near a parking lot.

    Kids were running up and down College Street and yelling.



    May 5

    Someone was blowing leaves onto a manís yard on Washington Street.

    A yellow Lab was running in and out of the roadway on North Main Street.

    Neighbors were grilling on a wood fire next to propane tanks on Shurtleff Place.

    A dog attacked a womanís dog on Highland Avenue.



    The following is a sampling of citations Barre police issued in recent days.

    On May 3, Steven C. Shwab, 28, was cited on a charge of unlawful mischief. He is scheduled to appear in Washington County criminal court June 13 to answer the charge.

    On May 5, Christopher Corrigan, 24, was cited on a charge of larceny. He is to appear in Washington County criminal court June 13.
