Café Terra, a popular Center Street coffee house, remains closed and is up for sale.

In an email, owner Kerrilee Knights said closing the coffee shop last month was a difficult decision.

“Sudden family business took priority for me and putting the shop up for sale at this point is the best option,” she wrote.

Knights, who purchased the business last year with partner Ryan Dixon, thanked Rutland for their support and said she had “no doubt that Cafe Terra will return to Center Street.”

A link posted recently on the Rutland Area Food Co-op Facebook page announced that the business is for sale with an asking price of $30,000.

A handwritten note taped to the door at 67 Center St. said it was “time for a break.”

The co-op lent its support, urging any prospective buyers to “keep the java flowing.”
