BARRE — Two participants will graduate Monday from Adult Drug Treatment Court.

The Washington County criminal court said the graduation for the two, whose names have not been released, will be held at the court in Barre.

The treatment court enables people involved in the criminal justice system who have an identified substance abuse and/or mental health problem to go through an alternative program that includes intensive case management, treatment and support. The court is designed to help reduce recidivism and further involvement with the criminal justice system and has been proven to accomplish this goal nationwide. The process can take a year or more for participants to complete.

The treatment court is a collaboration of the criminal court and Central Vermont Substance Abuse Services.
