• Montpelier tops magazine’s school rankings

    MONTPELIER — Montpelier High School has been named the best public high school in Vermont by U.S. News & World Report.

    The rankings were determined after the 2010-2011 school year. The information used included statistics such as Advanced Placement participation rate, AP passing rate, and math and reading rates for economically disadvantaged students.

    Also making the list of top Vermont public schools was Northfield Middle/High School at eighth. The other ranked schools were Oxbow at No. 2, followed by Lake Region, Arlington, Colchester, Green Mountain, Randolph and Vergennes at ninth.
