Work on wall is complete
The work to update the Spaulding High School Wall of Honor was completed during the last week of April. With the addition of 144 new individuals, the wall now has a total of 2,656 former Spaulding students who have served our nation in times of conflict.
I would like to recognize and thank the following businesses and individuals who made the entire process a success. Jeff Martel of Granite Industries of Vermont, Dave and Gary LaCroix of LaCross Memorials of Barre, Joe Calcagni of Granite Corp. of Barre, Jamie Evans and Andre Dessureau of the Spaulding High School Maintenance Department, along with Tom Sedore, principal of Spaulding, for his administrative support.
The Wall of Honor at Spaulding High School is unique in the nation and is a tribute to the Barre community and its heritage as the Granite City. Spaulding High School will be undergoing major roof construction this summer, and building access will be limited. However, in conjunction with the Barre Heritage Festival and Homecoming Days weekend, we are pleased to announce that an open house viewing will occur July 27 from 9 to 11 a.m. Please use the auditorium entrance and come view Spaulding and Barre history with family and friends.
