    BARRE — Priscilla A. Adsit, 88, of Fairview Street, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, with her family at her bedside.

    Born in Detroit, Mich., on Dec. 1, 1924, she was the daughter of the late James and Rebecca (Steen) Amberson.

    At an early age the family moved to Riverdale, N.Y. Priscilla attended schools in South Hadley, Mass., and was a graduate of Mount Holyoke College in 1946.

    In 1948, she married Charles G. Adsit in Riverdale, N.Y. After their marriage, they made their home in Manhattan and later moved to New Jersey. After her husband’s retirement, they moved to Cape Cod. He passed away on Jan. 25, 1991. Priscilla then moved to Greensboro, Vt. She later made her home with her daughter, Suzanne Adsit, in Barre.

    She was a former member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Hardwick.

    Among her interests were cooking, painting, sculpturing, and training her pet dog and attending dog shows.

    Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne Adsit, of Barre; one granddaughter, Samara Owen, and her husband, Chris, also of Barre; as well as many nieces and nephews.

    Also surviving is her pet dog, Diesel.

    To honor her wishes, there will be no service or calling hours.

    Arrangements are in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre.
