    The hour is late

So the governor has passed the new gas tax in the transportation budget. Wonderful. It amazes me that elitist politicians think taxes on the most fundamental items in our lives won’t (further) cripple our economy. Those of us in the “middle class” spend a far greater percentage of our income on things like food and gas, especially in a rural area such as this, which is why all these little increases in living expense add up to a crippled economy and a struggling, sinking middle class. What amazes me even more is the lack of outrage from the people. Are you all: 1) in lockstep with the political elitists; 2) having your heads too far in the sand to have any clue what’s going on in the world/economy around you; or 3) too scared to “offend” the thin-skinned, politically correct socialists strangling us.

The hour is late — speak up.
