• Montpelier Police Log: Numerous auto mishaps reported

    The following is a sampling of reports to Montpelier police in recent days.



    April 24

    A set of three keys was found on Main Street next to City Hall.

    Keys were found on College Street.

    Someone was bitten by a black Lab on Wheelock Street.

    A debit card was found on Barre Street.



    April 25

    Someone lost a silver iPod on Colonial Drive.

    A two-car accident occurred on Main Street around 11 a.m. No injuries were reported.

    A neighborís chickens were in a Liberty Street residentís yard.

    A buff-colored dog was running loose at the intersection of Summit Street and Edward Street.

    At the intersection of State and Elm streets, a Samsung cellphone was found.

    A dog was sitting on top of a car in the Jacobs parking lot.



    April 26

    At the police station on Pitkin Court, a black wallet was reported missing.

    A woman in a white van hit a gas pump on State Street.

    On Main Street, a woman backed her car into a pole.



    April 27

    A wire was down next to State Street.

    A couch was dumped into the river on Elm Street.

    Someone hit a concrete barrier with their vehicle on State Street.



    April 28

    A 30-foot extension ladder went missing from Nelson Street.

    On State Street, a man defecated in the back of a building.

    A woman was wielding a knife at her daughter on Sherwood Drive.



    April 29

    A mailbox was torn out of the ground on Berlin Street.

    On Crosby Avenue, a small dog was wandering around.

    A black wallet was lost on Main Street.

    Food and articles of clothing were found on State Street.



    The following is a sampling of citations Montpelier police issued in recent days.

    On April 28, Roger Lee Morey, 56, was cited on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in Washington County criminal court May 16 to answer the charge.
