ST. JOHNSBURY — The town of St. Johnsbury wants to examine evidence of carcinogenic toxins at the former armory.
The town and the nonprofit St. Johnsbury History and Heritage Center are teaming up to contract the study. The center is leasing the shuttered armory for a dollar and has an option to buy it.
The study will evaluate carcinogenic toxins called polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, in the armory’s basement floor paint.
The center is interested in setting up a museum of local artifacts there.MORE IN This Just InWASHINGTON — Two senior Islamic State group leaders were killed in U.S. Full StoryVATICAN CITY — Pope Francis rightly got credit for helping bring the U.S. Full StoryMAIDUGURI, Nigeria — Islamic extremists killed 35 people and kidnapped at least 185 in an attack...
