    Choosing quality of death

We Americans are so fortunate to live in a country that prizes individual freedoms. Unlike those living under repressive regimes, we, not the government, are free to decide where we live, how much education we have, whom we marry, how many children we have, what kind of work we seek, how we worship, and many other choices that determine the quality of our lives.

However, as the end of our lives approaches, we discover that we donít have the individual right to determine the quality of our dying. The Vermont Legislature is now considering whether we, not they, should have this freedom. I believe we should. Do you? If so, please contact your legislators.
