    We must do something

    So Gov. Shumlin thinks there is nothing that can be done to protect children from gun violence, so we should not do anything?

    Why do we have laws against drug dealing, stealing or any crime? It is useless to have police? Criminals are going to do what they do no matter what. What a cop-out. Politicians are so afraid of adverse reactions from gun owners they will not stand up for what is right. Gun owners are so paranoid about the government taking away their guns. Black helicopters, anyone?

    I wonder if the governor lost a child to gun violence he might feel the same way?

    I, for one, will not vote for Shumlin again, and I urge voters to use the ballot box to get rid of cowardly politicians.
