• Crews fix ‘ponding’ problem in Barre

    BARRE — A crew from Luck Brothers dug up a section of pavement in front of the Cornerstone Pub & Kitchen this week to address a “ponding” problem that developed over the winter.

    According to City Engineer Reg Abare, the area that was excavated experienced some settling, creating a “dimple” in the pavement that was patched by the city and is now being fixed by the contractor for the reconstruction of North Main Street. He said the dimple developed above underground duct work that the telephone company installed.

    Abare said it was an isolated problem that was easily addressed.
