BRADFORD — A Barre man who was hospitalized in New Hampshire following a late-night accident on Route 25 will face at least one criminal charge when he returns to Vermont.

Vermont State Police said Mark Ekins, 47, was driving with a criminally suspended license when he swerved off the road and into a ditch shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday. Ekins was injured in the accident and taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, N.H.

The extent of Ekins’ injuries was not disclosed, but police said alcohol may have been a factor and the results of a blood test are pending.

At a minimum, police said, Ekins will be cited to appear in court on a charge of driving with a criminally suspended license.
