We need these labels
If there is one thing I passionately believe in, it is the relationship between human beings and their food; the substances by which we choose to nourish our bodies and spirits. Why, then, should we be concealed from the true composition of our food?
Companies have become consumed with profit-driven initiatives, debatably at the expense of peoplesí overall health and wellbeing. I fully lend my support to the GMO labeling bill that is currently under review (bill H.112) in the Vermont legislature because it fosters this most intimate relationship known to mankind. As the use of pesticides and other synthetic chemicals rise in conjunction with GMO crop production, we have all the more reason to be made aware of what it is in our food and how it has been produced. We might be a small state, but we are comprised of passionate and progressive thinkers who truly care about where their food comes from, how it is produced, and its affect on the body.
Take a stand. Voice your opinion. Let us be the first state in the nation to label genetically modified organisms in our food.
