• Vt. Democrats have new chairman

    MONTPELIER — The Vermont Democratic Party has a new leader.

    The Democrats’ state committee voted unanimously on Saturday for Dottie Deans to replace outgoing chairman Jake Perkins.

    Deans, of North Pomfret, has served as vice-chairwoman of the party. The former elementary school teacher had served as town chairwoman in Pomfret.
