Marie B. Perras Rites
GRANITEVILLE — A Mass of Christian burial was concelebrated on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. in St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Graniteville for Marie (Boutin) Perras. She passed away on March 22, 2013, at the Charlotte Harbor Healthcare of Port Charlotte, Fla.
The principal celebrant was the Rev. Emmanuel I. Ajanma, pastor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Swanton, Vt., assisted by the Rev. Andrew Bednarowicz, parochial vicar of the church.
Crucifers were Blake Potrzeba, grandson, and Roger Cyr.
Pianist Rosemary Badeau accompanied vocalists Romeo Bilodeau and Ronald Routhier in the hymns, “Be Not Afraid,” “The Lord is My Shepherd,” “Your Words, Lord, Are Spirit and Life,” “Prayer of St. Francis,” “Song of Farewell” and “Gentle Woman.” Soloist Rosemary Badeau sang “Ave Maria.”
Words of remembrance were offered by granddaughter Nancy Lacroix.
Scripture readings from the Old Testament were read by Rachelle Potrzeba, and Carrolle Keane read Scriptures from the New Testament, both granddaughters.
Offertory gifts were presented at the altar by Claire Keane and Sylvie Glowacki, both granddaughters.
Pallbearers were Paul Savard, Norman Savard, John Perras, Jacque Perras, Joey Perras and Jimmy Perras, all grandsons.
The rosary was recited by the family Friday evening at the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home in Barre, and was led by Huguette Savard, daughter. A prayer service was also held Saturday morning at the funeral home and was led by the Rev. Ajanma.
Entombment was in the Wilson Vault in Lower Websterville. A later spring burial will be held in St. Sylvester Cemetery, also in Lower Websterville, Vt.
Following the entombment, family and friends gathered at the Hilltop Restaurant on Quarry Hill Road for a time of fellowship and luncheon.
Arrangements are in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre.
